Scrapping of 17. 4KM of Road in Monrovia and its Environs
The Ministry of Public Works has received funding from the World Bank through its Liberia Reconstruction Trust Fund (LRTF) support to the Coca-Cola Factory – Gbarnga Road Project to implement road safety activities. A component of the road safety activity, which is supervised by the Road Safety Secretariat (RSS) hosted at the Ministry of Transport (MOT), is being implemented by the Transport Engineering Division of the Ministry of Public Works.
This work involves stripping 17.4 km of roads within Monrovia and its environs to ensure proper supervision and maintenance of the network. This will improve road safety and warn drivers of pedestrian crossings and other road safety elements while driving.
In this regard, the Transport Engineering Division is currently carrying out the stripping of city streets in Monrovia.
The project was carried out in collaboration with the Infrastructure Implementation Unit (IIU), Ministry of Public Works, Road Safety Secretariat and Liberia National Police who provided technical support and security during the process.
