The National Road Safety Secretariats was established in 2018 with the compositions of the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Public Works, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Justice (Liberia National Police), and Ministry of Education in addressing road safety needs that are confronting motorists, non-motorists and pedestrians. However, this will give rise to the formulation of the National Road Safety Authority with full oversight of road safety-related policies, an amendment to the vehicle and traffic laws, and massive public awareness. With this mandate, the National Road Safety Committee through the Road Safety Secretariat, in executing its agenda and purpose of the secretariat, the representatives of the various ministries have fully devoted their time to meet the achievable goals of the secretariat.
